CHERRY CREEK, N.Y. – A 17-year-old boy was shot in the back with a birdshot pellet from a shotgun while turkey hunting Monday morning.
The incident happened on Pickup Hill Road in the Town of Cherry Creek. Officials say one party allegedly fired at a turkey and part of the discharged round hit the victim in his torso.
The boy was taken to a local hospital, was treated and released. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.
