Two Knoxville-area men pleaded guilty last week to illegally baiting and hunting bears in Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area.

Park officials and U.S. Fish and Wildlife agents found multiple illegal bait sites that were being hunted in October 2016 and that one of the men shot a bear illegally in the park.

Both men pleaded guilty in federal court and will lose hunting privileges for one year in Tennessee. One man will also pay $10,000 in fines and restitution.
