A teenager is recovering after an accidental shooting during a duck hunting trip in Forest City Township Monday morning.
The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office says three 16-year-old boys were hunting from a boat on Powers Lake around 7:00 a.m. when one of the hunters dropped his shotgun. The gun discharged when it landed, striking 16-year-old Caleb Crowe of rural Dassel in the leg.
The other two teenagers immediately called 911 and applied an improvised tourniquet to stop the bleeding.
Crowe was taken to Meeker Memorial Hospital then airlifted to North Memorial Health in Robbinsdale for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
