Niagara County big game rifle hunting allowance extended to 2028

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Hunters in Niagara County will be able to continue using rifles to hunt big game until at least October 2028.

Following Gov. Kathy Hochul’s review, the allowance, which was passed earlier this year by the state legislature, was signed on Friday.

The allowance was set to expire on October 1 of this year, but will be extended until October 1, 2028, under the newly signed act.
