Two American hunters and two conservation officers have been charged for allegedly shooting near a home while hunting in northern Prince Edward Island last month.

Police say the incidents involved a group who was goose hunting in Rustico between Dec. 18 and 19, 2025.

The incidents were initially reported to PEI Conservation, who charged two of the hunters from the United States.

The RCMP says it was asked to investigate the other two hunters, who were guiding the Americans, to avoid a conflict of interest.

Police laid summary offence charges against the two conservation officers under the Wildlife Conservation Act “for shooting at game within 200 metres of a school, church, meeting place, farm building, occupied dwelling, or livestock without permission.”

The charge carries a $250 fine.
