A 33-year-old man died in a hunting accident on a private property in Jay, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The victim is Gerald C. Kilpatrick.

FWC says the incident happened Tuesday around 4:40 p.m.

“Preliminary information indicates Kilpatrick was hunting on private property in Jay when he fell from a tree stand,” FWC tells WEAR News.

Kilpatrick was transported to an area hospital for treatment, where he later died from his injuries.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

No further details were released.

“The FWC extends its deepest sympathies to the victim’s family and friends during this difficult time,” a release states.
