A Virginia teenager has been hospitalized after being wounded by a hunter.
According to the Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home on Starrlett Road at about 11 a.m. on Saturday regarding a 16-year-old who had been shot through a window of the house.
The boy’s family drove him to an area hospital for treatment.
Rockbridge authorities said they were able to find the suspected shooter and identified him as 26-year-old Malcolm Vest. They said he was hunting in the area at the time of the shooting.
The 26-year-old was arrested and is facing charges of felony reckless handling of a firearm, the sheriff’s office said.
