MN, Grouse hunter accidentally shot by brother in St. Louis County
ORR, MINN. – A St. Paul man was injured early Saturday in a hunting accident north of Orr in northeastern Minnesota.
The St. Louis County sheriff’s office said Daniel Paul Liska, 48, was hunting grouse with his brother, David Richard Liska, 49, of Forest Lake, near Elephant Lake.
The Mesabi Daily News of Virginia reported that the two brothers were separated by 25 to 30 yards when a grouse was flushed and David Liska shot at it. He did not see his brother. Pellets hit Daniel Liska in the face and hand. David Liska took his brother to the Cook Hospital, where he was treated and released.
The sheriff’s office is reminding hunters to be aware of their surroundings and where all other members of their hunting party before firing.
