John Frederick Badger Accused of Stealing Tree Stands, Illegal Hunting
PALATKA, Fla. — An investigation that lasted several months has landed a man in jail facing 17 charges, and it’s not the first time he’s been arrested.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), 39-year-old John Frederick Badger was arrested Friday after surveillance video verified he was breaking the law.
The FWC said Badger, among other things, had mounted a deer that he killed illegally and had stolen tree stands from property on which he was trespassing.
He faces three felony charges:
Two counts of armed trespass One count of habitual traffic offender He also faces 14 misdemeanor charges:
Four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child One count of taking deer at night with gun and light Three counts of trespass Two counts of theft One count of permitting an unauthorized minor to drive One count of removing a posted sign Two counts of taking deer by illegal method The FWC also said Badger committed violations on the property of a Timber Company, under a streetlight near his former home and on public roads.
This is Badger’s fourth arrest; the previous three were all for hunting-related crimes between 1993 and 2003.
