Hershey hunter pleads guilty to deer poaching

LINCOLN — A Hershey, Neb., man has pleaded guilty to game law violations regarding the illegal taking of deer in Lincoln County, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.

Jeremy S. Kreiling, 23, has paid fines, liquidated damages and court costs totaling $5,348. He also has had his hunting, fishing and fur harvesting privileges in Nebraska revoked for three years. He pleaded guilty to charges of violation of deer regulations and overbag on deer.

The case involved two other men. Brian P. Spooner, 20, of Garden City, Kan., paid $498 in fines and court costs for obtaining permits under false pretense and hunting without permission. Donald R. Bristol, 24, of North Platte, Neb., faces game law violations as well as several felony charges stemming from the initial investigation, including being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The case began when an investigation into littering resulted in the discovery of deer parts. All three men eventually confessed or cooperated with the investigation.
