Update: NC: Uncle charged in accidental shooting death of Tarboro child

RALEIGH, N.C. – Thirty-year-old Jason Matthews Parker of Franklinton now faces charges in the accidental shooting death of his 12-year-old nephew, James Parker, or Tarboro.

Twelve-year-old Parker died after his uncle accidentally fired a shotgun during a morning deer hunt in Wake Forest on December 28th.

The Wildlife Commission says Jason Parker had improperly acquired his hunting license and had not taken the required hunting education course.

The gun was a 12-ga. break-action single shot shotgun.
