STOCKTON – Brian Meyer, 55, and his son, Patrick Meyer, 20, both of Dunkirk, began deer hunting on Chautauqua Road and eventually lost their bearings, ending up in a swamp at the edge of Bear Lake about 2 p.m., deputies said.
The pair became stuck in the mud and water and called for help from a mobile phone. The rescue was complicated by mud and trees, authorities said.
