Green Bay man fell from tree stand

GREEN BAY (AP) – Wisconsin’s gun deer season opening weekend ended with at least three hunting-related fatalities on Saturday.

Authorities say 41-year-old Shawn Lemanski died from injuries suffered when he fell from a tree stand in the Marathon County town of Cassel. Also, 51-year-old Steven Jackson died after he was found unresponsive in the woods near Gleason in Lincoln County.

WIZM radio reports a 22-year-old man died while hunting on the grounds of Fort McCoy. Authorities say Thomas Stamborski suffered a gunshot wound.
