ND: North Dakota man fined for trapping bald eagle

FARGO (AP) – U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says Jay P. Schuler was sentenced on Wednesday. He pleaded guilty to a charge of taking and trapping a bald eagle in violation of the Federal Eagle Act and has been fined more than $7,500.

The eagle has permanent damage to a talon but has been released to the wild.
