Homeowner calls on hunters to set their sights more carefully
HUNKER, Pa. —
A man is calling on hunters to stop being reckless with where they shoot, after a stray bullet hit the side of his house in Hunker.
Randy Page was shocked when he heard a pop and saw a hole in the side of his house.
“I said, ‘Hey, that’s a bullet,'” Page said.
Police officers removed a slug from a 30/30 rifle from the wall. He believes it was fired by hunters from a tree stand in a section of woods off Trout Road in Hunker, and the bullet carried all the way to the wall of his kitchen. Page said four or five people were home at the time, but no one was hurt.
Page often and sees people in the deer stand, but “They face the house when they hunt. They were sitting on chairs up there, hunting facing the house, and you know, they got to realize people live here,” Page said.
