Last week, DNREC Enforcement Agents responded to 31 complaints and issued 16 citations last week. Most of the citations were for fishing violations around the state.

Citations issued between April 4 and April 11 by violation type included the following charges, with the number of charges in parentheses:
Fisheries Conservation: Recreational: Fishing without a license (3), Nanticoke River near Laurel, Roosevelt Inlet in Lewes, Mispillion River near Milford; fishing in closed area (1), White Clay Creek near Newark; taking striped bass during closed season (1), Nanticoke River near Laurel; using unmarked gill net (1), Blackbird Creek near Townsend; trespassing to fish (3), Hoopes Reservoir in Wilmington; possession of undersized white perch (1), Nanticoke River near Laurel; over limit possession of hard clams (1), Frederica.
Wildlife Conservation: Trespassing after hours (2), Phillips Landing near Laurel; operating a motor vehicle off an established roadway (1), C&D Canal Wildlife Area near St. Georges.
Public Safety: Clamming in polluted area (1), Whites Creek near Newark.
