MOUNT OLIVE — A bow hunter apparently fell from a tree stand to his death Monday in the woods in Budd Lake.
Officers determined that the 49-year-old man was bow hunting from a tree stand, which was approximately 25 feet off the ground. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene of the fall, the report said.
According to the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife website, limited deer hunting season began in certain areas of New Jersey on Saturday.
