FAIRBANKS — A lost hunter in a precarious situation happened to catch the attention of another group of hunters last week in a remote area roughly 10 miles from the Steese Highway.
Matthew Blanchard and the other two members of his hunting party were close enough to hear a man shouting Friday morning, Blanchard said.
The man had spent all of Thursday and Thursday night alone in the tundra and was borderline hypothermic, Blanchard said.
The man had apparently gotten separated from his hunting partner and confused about the direction of the Steese Highway, Blanchard said.
