JASPER COUNTY — On Dec. 14, Shawn Garner, 41, fell 15 feet from a tree stand when it collapsed near Kouts.
Garner was air lifted to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment. Garner was in stable condition according to family, on Monday, awaiting back surgery for two broken bones as a result of the fall.
