A 34-year-old Oakland Township man walking with a friend was accidentally shot by a hunter in the Bald Mountain Recreation Area on Tuesday.

The 64-year-old hunter lost sight of a deer he’d seen running in the area and when he heard movement, discharged two rounds of buckshot from his shotgun, hitting the victim in his hip.

The Oakland Township Fire Department transported the man to McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, where he’s listed in good condition with non-life threatening injuries.
