DEC visits and accuses woman rehabilitator of “caring for a baby squirrel.” She had a license but paperwork had been delayed, so DEC officer is free to threaten her. (Wildlife Warrior Ann Dirgni) Rehabilitator’s Nightmare: More Gestapo tactics, this time NJ DEP Dept. of Fish, Game, and Wildlife terrorized kindly rehabber Bill Sleight. The precious animals –20 raccoons, a groundhog and a skunk – he had cared for with goal of setting free when they recovered, were roughly dragged away, cruelly crammed into crates, and then killed. In an extreme case of overkill, 9 DEP personnel, and others from Animal Control and Health Dept., and news media swarmed over his property. The officials blatantly ignored Bill’s legal permit, tricked him with a false assertion, and one even admitted to him, “We lied.”
