ROMNEY, West Virginia — A Pendleton County man has lost his hunting privileges for 10 years after pleading guilty to charges related to a bald eagle’s death. 41-year-old Chris Armentrout of Franklin also was fined $1,500.

Armentrout pleaded guilty earlier this month in magistrate court to illegal possession of a bald eagle.

The DNR began an investigation after hearing that an individual had bragged about killing a bald eagle and disposing of it. The carcass of an immature bald eagle was found in a small stream.
