Hunters from Dewey County and Beadle County are facing charges for a variety of game violations.

The first of the defendants, Scott Eckmann, 53, of Cavour, pled guilty to unlawful possession of a big game animal. Eckmann was sentenced to 90 days in jail, which was suspended, and fined $250. He will lose his hunting privileges for a year.

Doug Kraft, 39, of Timber Lake and John Paul Tschetter, 33, of Yale, face 27 separate counts of possession of big game animals, aiding and abetting, and conspiracy to unlawfully possess big game animals.

The other defendants are Adam Doerr, 27, of Huron (three counts); William Fast, 48, of Yale (four counts); and Jeff J. Tschetter, 55, of Huron (one count).
