An East Union Township man will spend time in prison, pay thousands of dollars in fines and be barred from hunting for 18 years after being sentenced Wednesday in Schuylkill County Court for illegal hunting.

Ronald R. Hartz Jr., 50, of Sheppton, was sentenced to serve six to 12 months in prison, pay costs, $7,600 in fines, $100 to the Substance Abuse Education Fund and $179 restitution to the state police crime laboratory in Bethlehem, and submit a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities.

Baldwin also suspended Hartz’s hunting privileges for 18 years.
