NEW DURHAM — A New Hampshire Fish and Game Department release said Bernard Ahearn, 56, was hunting coyote in the woods near Old Bay Road about 2:30 p.m. Friday when he shot himself in the foot with a 22-caliber semi-automatic rifle.

Ahearn was able to walk from the woods to his car, then drove to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
