The Minnesota DNR provided the following summaries of last week’s activities by Conservation Officers:

Officer Matt Miller (Marine Unit) Fur registration was worked at the Two Harbors office, and one incidentally caught marten was seized.

CO Dan Starr (Tower) Trapping activities were monitored, with a loaded gun and untagged marten found as violations.

CO Sean Williams (Ely) reports Violations included possession of a controlled substance, trapping without a license, and no registration displayed on an ice house.

CO Don Bozovsky (Hibbing) Enforcement action was taken on trapping without a license, hunt deer without a license, untagged deer, and unregistered snowmobile.

CO Matt Frericks (Virginia) Some trappers neglected to purchase a trapping license or a small game license prior to going out and taking animals.

CO Mark Fredin (Aurora) Time was spent assisting DNR Wildlife with fur tagging with violations on no small game license found.

CO Mike Fairbanks (Deer River) responded to calls of injured swans, worked muzzle loader complaints, monitored trapping activity and worked snowmobile enforcement.

CO Shawn Wichmann (Hill City) followed up on a case that involved an over limit of deer and lending a license. Enforcement action was taken for taking fishers during closed season and failing to check traps.

CO Eugene Wynn (Pine City) followed up on complaints of deer carcasses being dumped.
