Indiana Man Faces Charges for Possessing a Bobcat

February 07 2011

An Indiana man is charged with killing two bobcats.

The Putnam county Prosecutor will charge 43-year-old Darin Hull of Reelsville with two counts of illegal possession of a bobcat.

Bobcats are a protected species in Indiana.

Indiana Conservation officers believe Hull trapped and skinned two bobcats. Officers found bobcat hides in a freezer.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources sponsors Trapper Education classes that stress techniques to reduce the number of non-target catches. A bobcat legally taken in another state may be possessed in Indiana with proper documentation.
