An Evansville man is lucky to be alive after a hunting accident that happened just before 8 a.m. Thursday morning.

64-year-old Michael Edwards, of Evansville, and a friend were squirrel hunting in the Big Cypress area near Hovey Lake.

Officials say Edwards’s friend shot at a squirrel with a .22 caliber rifle when the bullet ricocheted, grazing Edwards in the back of the head.
