TWIN FALLS, Idaho

After three days of testimony from Fish and Game officers, veterinarians and hunters, a jury found a Twin Falls man guilty of possessing an illegally taken pronghorn antelope but innocent of shooting the animal with a firearm during archery only season.

Thomas Buck Chaput’s fellow hunting party members all testified that he had shot the animal with his bow, and no one in the party admitted to having a firearm.

Nonetheless, Fish and Game officers said evidence clearly showed the antelope was shot with a bullet.
